Gasthaus zum Ochsen in Rust

Very friendly staff, unbelievably good food, very large portions and fast and great service :) We had to wait a little because there was so much going on but that wasn't a problem. We were well taken care of and again I would like to highlight the friendliness of the service staff and the great kitchen! We will definitely come back next time in Rust! Until then, we wish the operators and staff good perseverance in this difficult time!

Very cozy guest house with a very good price-performance ratio. The food was plentiful, fresh and tasty. The staff was friendly and always tried hard. Highly Recommended!

We have been visiting Gasthaus zum Ochsen for around 15 years, every time we are in the Europapark. Back then it was still a real insider tip👍. Today the quality is well known. Without a reservation, you hardly have a chance to get a table. Although the inn has steadily "grown" (over the years, "new", additional guest rooms have been opened up), the Gasthaus zum Ochsen has not lost any of its charm. We are always enthusiastic about so much friendliness, willingness to serve and above all, the quality of the food and can therefore recommend the inn without reservation

Went there yesterday with pre-reservation. The restaurant was 100% full, and I can understand why ;-) !! The food was very fine and the portions generous. If we go to Rust again, we will 100% stop at the Ochsen because the price / performance ratio was 100% right for us. Another little tip, the best thing to do is to make a reservation, then you will certainly have space, otherwise you might have to wait for a table ;-) ;-) ............

First waitress was pleasant and made an effort to speak English to understand us, too bad she didn't serve us. Long service and they did not try to make us understand their menu which was written in German with a few words of English. The meat was good, the rest of the food too, but there is still a downside. Entering through the kitchen in times of covid and even short is not great, and then when we had finished, the waitresses were more inclined to clear and fold their room in a huge din than to see us for a dessert or other. I just find the service a shame, if it had been better I think I could have enjoyed my meal.

Wonderful place. Great team, great for guests, super friendly. Hygiene concept as perfect as nowhere else. Food: simply delicious. Unfortunately too far away otherwise we would be regulars!

The food was really great, the price was reasonable, the service was friendly, all around 5 *! Tip: be there at the opening without a reservation. Then it works, because otherwise the tables are practically always taken.

It was a very good evening, with delicious food, great beer and nice service. The entire location including the beer garden was clean and tidy. I can only recommend a visit.

Very good restaurant. The quantities are generous. There is an English menu but no French. Likewise, the waiters speak very little French. But we eat very well there. Handy when going to Europapark.

I went to the Ochsen with my girlfriend on Friday and we were thrilled. Fortunately, we had already reserved a week in advance, so we had no space problems. The food was delicious and the portions are very generous. You should think twice beforehand whether you want to have a starter (it was very good, but simply too much in the end). The liver dumpling soup consisted of 4! Liver dumplings and that's pretty neat. Price / performance is 100% and we went back completely satisfied.

- Food was ok, but not properly balanced (salt, spices, etc.) For this price I expect more. -Order was partially forgotten, even after 3 requests. -Service unfortunately not good, empty plates were not cleared away, although the waiter often went calmly by. -Beilangen only came when the main plate was almost eaten. -Ambience was ok. -Menu is very versatile.

Great food, best restaurant in Rust!

Spontaneously got a table despite a full house. Although he stood a little apart, we were not forgotten. The staff was very professional and accommodating. When it got cold later, we got a blanket and the recommendations were great. The food (had the fillet pan) was so delicious that I would have loved to lick the plate.

We recommend!! The food is just delicious, down to earth and plentiful. The service is friendly, attentive and patient. Got a table after a short call. We were warmly welcomed and very well entertained despite the close end of work. Gladly again.

In advance: You should definitely reserve a table beforehand! About the service: Super friendly and attentive service! About the meal: I personally ate a "Badische Flädlesuppe" and the "Pork schnitzel breaded with spaetzle and cream sauce". Very, very tasty food! Really can only be recommended! I will definitely come over there a few more times to eat :)

It was really very busy and we had to be patient until we got a table. And the meal also lasted, but we were kindly informed of this beforehand. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly .. we'll be back.

Spontaneously we got a table, you should definitely make a reservation. The staff was very nice and friendly. We all enjoyed the food and the salad had a delicious dressing made from vinegar and oil. We would come back again.

Again it was delicious. Diverse and to the point. Hospitality is also high on the list. All in all a great overall package. Definitely worth a visit. We'd love to come back.

Excellent food. We did have to wait a long time as it was quite busy. But the food we got was worth the wait.

You have to wait a white eben if you had a reservation.It is hard to find a Parking lot.

We were at Europa-Park two weeks ago and then at the ox. The food was very tasty. We were very positively surprised by the service. He would have earned 5 stars. Seldom had such a competent and attentive service. Many thanks.

Food was very good in the restaurant, however I got the feeling that they were more focused on getting more guests than pleasing the guests that were already there. I don’t know what others are used to but we were sat around 8:30 pm and got our food an hour later so we were all very hungry. Luckily the portions were very big.

A truly amazing place with friendly staff, and delicious dishes.

This is a very good place to discover german food. All is prepared extraordinary, perfectly roasted with a good sauce and sides. They have very good beers. The service is really concerned about the guests. Working people are helpful and speaks English as well.It's a well-known place so book in advance for hight season. The prices are very reasonable. They have several rooms. Some can get very noisy and hot.

Food was ok, but service was very slow. It takes ages for the waiters to come.

Great German kitchen! Try the veal liver! It is fantastic. Great service, nice atmosphere, book ahead, the place is so popular.

I was there year ago and had a chance to eat here again this year - back then and now I can definitely recommend it!😊 I eat beef stake and mix of different meats (beef, pork, turkey, lamb) - both were prepared extraordinary, perfectly roasted with a nice addition of souse and vegetables. On top of that very good beer and service that is really concerned about the guests. It is definitely a great place to eat with family and friends!😊

The dishes were very good, the staff welcomed us with a big smile and they can speak French and English. The service is also very nice. It's also near Europa Park which makes it a good stop after a long day.
